Maxie and Spinelli Spinelli feels awful because he did not know about Georgie's love for him until it was too late and made her suffer in silence for him for months. He still mourns Georgie's death and the loss of their potential romantic relationship, which made him only more determined to prove that Cooper is the text-message killer. Jason agreed to help him. However, after the apparent suicide of her boyfriend, Cooper Barrett, Maxie Jones enlisted Spinelli's help in uncovering Coop's killer because she believes that whoever killed Coop, killed her little sister. Spinelli believes that her want to find the killer is because she hasn't had time to properly grieve. However, Maxie says differently. The unlikely duo are trying to work together to find the killer. At first, there were many arguments between the two, but after a stakeout at Logan's house, Maxie kissed him to avoid a cop's accusation of loitering outside the house, sparking a new camaraderie between the two--but not without its flaws. For example, Spinelli's growing feelings for the late Georgie's sister (as evidenced by the numerous black-and-white fantasies he has had as Sam Spade and Maxie as a blond bimbo making out with him, and by the fact that he no longer calls her the bad blond one, but the wounded blond one) are getting in the way just slightly. Diego finds Maxie and Spinelli, he starts to strangle Maxie until she stabs him with a pole bar, and Spinelli punches him. Diego gets his neck tied around a rope and falls off the catwalk. Maxie and Spinelli Maxie is certain that Coop can't be the Text Message Killer and is the one who finds his corpse hanging from the ceiling by a cord, obviously strangled and many think that he is the Killer when the DNA results from Georgie's fingernails is a match to Coop's. Maxie also refuses to believe that he committed suicide and convinced Spinelli to help her find out who really killed Georgie. Spinelli is reluctant to help her, but gives in when she reveals that Spinelli never really knew Georgie at all and that he used her as a cocker spaniel and never thought of her as more than a friend when Georgie clearly loved him. Maxie and Spinelli begin their investigation in Georgie's bedroom where Spinelli is also uncomfortable with being when he realizes that he should have noticed Georgie's feelings for him. Maxie reveals to Spinelli how she really met Coop and they begin to think that Logan could very well be behind the murders of Leticia, Emily, and Georgie as well as the attempts on the lives of Maxie, Alexis, and Carly. But on February 22 it is revealed that Diego Alcazar was the real TMK. Diego finds Maxie, Spinelli, and Nikolas, which leads to Diego's demise. However, she and Spinelli have remained friends, although Maxie, not unlike Spinelli with Georgie, is unaware of how Spinelli cares for her and how many black-and-white fantasies he has had with her as the object of affection.
